Hey Friends,

I love words and the outdoors.  I spend most of my time in Long Beach, California.

Eagles miss the mark

The women’s basketball team fell 57-51 to Arizona Christian University on Feb. 3. The close game brought the Eagles’ overall record to 13-11 and 5-5 in Golden State Athletic Conference play and gave the Firestorm their first win in conference play.

The Eagles had a rough time in the first half, shooting 32.4 percent from the field and 18.2 from the three-point line. Despite the poor shooting percentage, Biola trailed behind Arizona Christian 29-26 at the end of the first half.

Despite making significant improvements in their shooting percentage in the second half, Arizona Christian outscored Biola 28-26. Of the 28 points, the Firestorm had 20 points in the paint.

Junior guard Aubree Mittel led the Eagles with 14 points and senior forward Elizabeth Munger finished with 12.

The Eagles look to bounce back from the loss on Saturday, Feb. 6 against San Diego Christian College.
